Indie Comedy ‘Everyone is Doing Great’ Seasons 1 & 2 Coming to Netflix in May 2026

If you’ve been wondering what happened to the indie comedy series Everyone is Doing Great, we’ve got some fantastic news for you. Netflix has swooped in and acquired the streaming rights to the show—and in a massive win for fans, they are finally releasing the highly anticipated, previously “lost” second season.

Both seasons are scheduled to land on Netflix US on May 11th, we can confirm.

Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know about the acquisition, who is starring in the comedy, and the social media clue that teased this massive drop.

What is Everyone is Doing Great about?

If you missed its initial run, Everyone is Doing Great is a sharp, painfully relatable, and often hilarious half-hour comedy created by, written by, and starring James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti.

The series leans into the duo’s real-life history as teen idols, following Seth (Colletti) and Jeremy (Lafferty), two actors whose vampire-themed teen drama Eternal was a massive television hit. Fast forward five years after the finale, and the boys are leaning hard on the legacy of their past success while struggling to navigate the messy realities of life, love, and a notoriously brutal Hollywood landscape.

Who is in the cast of Everyone is Doing Great?

The show features a fantastic ensemble cast of familiar faces from some of your favorite teen and young adult dramas.

Here is the main cast list for the series:

  • James Lafferty (One Tree Hill, The Right Stuff) as Jeremy Davis
  • Stephen Colletti (One Tree Hill, Laguna Beach) as Seth Stewart
  • Alexandra Park (The Royals) as Andrea Cooper-Davis
  • Cariba Heine (H2O: Just Add Water, Designated Survivor) as Isabella Baker
  • Karissa Lee Staples (S.W.A.T., Walker) as Sarah

Note: Netflix was expected to be doing a One Tree Hill reboot, although its status is currently unclear.

The Long Road to Season 2 (and the Instagram Clue)

The journey of Everyone is Doing Great has been a completely independent, grassroots effort from the start. After a successful crowdfunding campaign, the first season originally found a streaming home on Hulu back in early 2021 before migrating to other platforms.

Fans loved it, and a second season was entirely shot in 2023. However, the distribution landscape shifted, and Season 2 effectively became “lost” media, sitting in the vault without a release date.

But eagle-eyed fans probably should have seen this coming. Back in October of last year, Sony Pictures at Home posted a promo on Instagram to push the first season, writing:

“They chased the spotlight. Now they’re just trying to find their footing. Stream Season 1 of @everyoneisdoinggreat on @tubi and @therokuchannel. #EDG”

In the comment section, a fan going by the handle @calvinbryant voiced what many in the fandom were feeling at the time: “This show came out 4 years ago. While it was great, I highly doubt there will be a season two.”

Surprisingly, series co-creator James Lafferty himself jumped into the replies to set the record straight:

@jameslafferty: “@calvinbryant Season 2 is finished and coming soon. Hopefully a much shorter hiatus before Season 3 😅🙌”

Now we know exactly what that “coming soon” meant. Netflix has stepped up to become the new home for the series in the United States and in most regions around the world such as the UK. When the show drops on May 11th, subscribers will get all eight episodes of Season 1, plus the long-awaited Season 2. Given the massive, enduring popularity of One Tree Hill (which spent years as a top performer in Netflix’s back catalog), picking up Lafferty and Colletti’s passion project feels like a total no-brainer for the streamer.

We’re expecting a full-season 2 information drop in the near future, and we’ll post an update once we have more.
