This week in Edmonton brings a whole lot of energy, with some first-time music festivals and escape room sequels in the mix. No matter what you’re looking to do in the city, there’s going to be an activity or event that catches your eye.

Let’s just get straight into it; here are some of the best things to do lined up for this week in Edmonton.

If you’re familiar with Fort Edmonton Park‘s Where Dark Things Dwell, its highly anticipated sequel has arrived.

Teams of four will work together in this escape “room” experience to solve puzzles, uncover clues, and complete challenges throughout the park’s 1885 Street, racing to break a mysterious curse before time runs out.

The Edmonton Mural Festival is a month-long celebration of the stunning murals across the city. It focuses on fostering inclusion, connecting artists, and highlighting their talent. Behind the festival, the team’s goals are to elevate local Alberta arts and continue to create opportunities for individuals to get represented in the arts and beautify Edmonton in the process.

Trade your screen for a summer evening surrounded by gardens and live music. Opera al Fresco brings featured Edmonton Opera soloists and the Edmonton Opera Chorus to the University of Alberta Botanic Garden for a relaxed outdoor concert filled with familiar favourites. Explore the gardens, gather with your favourite people and settle in under open skies. Each ticket includes garden admission and a charcuterie snack box. No previous opera experience is required.

The summer is almost over, and this week marks the last of summer deals and the last $5 Tuesday at the Metro Cinema.

124th Grand Market takes over the streets on Thursdays. Each week, there is a selection of over 60 rotating vendors with fresh produce, handmade goods, and trinkets, as well as food trucks that are going to satisfy your taste buds in every way.

Time: 4 to 8 p.m.
Where: 108th Avenue and 124th Street, Edmonton, Alta.

Edmonton’s cutest market is back for more action with over 30 vendors featuring some of the most adorable local goods imaginable. Not to mention, you’ll also want to bring your own trinkets for the trinket meet-up, where you can trade and sell for the perfect toy.

There are also some perks to being early; the first 20 shoppers each day will receive a gift, with the gift bags being different each day.

Coming to Edmonton as one of the newest markets around the block, Hello Market is bringing over 20 vintage vendors and accessory spots, as well as live music from local artists to Whyte Avenue. While you walk around, you’ll be able to grab food from one of the many vendors in the area.

Boots and Hearts is bringing its iconic country music charm out west in 2026 for Boots and Hearts West. This will be the first time the festival will be leaving Ontario, and there’s no better place than the wild, wild west. With Shaboozey and Russell Dickerson headlining the fest, it’ll have to be a good one.

Southwest Edmonton is going to be lighting up this August with some incredible energy, all thanks to Ignite Market’s first-ever event. You’re going to want to mark your calendar, because the first year of Ignite Market is already shaping up to be an amazing one.
