This historic Calgary park is hosting spooky ghost tours after dark this fall

9 September 20263 Mins Read

Things are getting spooky at Heritage Park this fall as the attraction brings back its annual Fall Ghost Tours.

The 90-minute nighttime walking tours take you through the historic park while guides share eerie stories from its past. Unlike a typical visit, these tours take place after dark, when the historic buildings and streets take on a much eerier atmosphere.

From what the tours are actually like to how much tickets cost, here’s what you need to know before heading out.

What to expect at Heritage Park’s Fall Ghost Tours

What are the Heritage Park Fall Ghost Tours?

The Fall Ghost Tours are guided nighttime walking tours through Heritage Park, where you’ll hear stories about the people, places, and strange happenings connected to the historic site.

Heritage Park specifically highlights locations including the Sam Livingston House and the Fort. The experience gives you a completely different look at the space than what you’d experience during a normal daytime visit.

How long do the ghost tours last?

Each ghost tour lasts about 90 minutes, with start times at 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8 p.m.

Is this a family-friendly event?

According to Heritage Park, the Fall Ghost tours are for guests ages 16 and older, so this particular event isn’t open to younger children. The tour focuses on paranormal stories and the darker side of the park’s history, making it better suited to older audiences.

What should I bring with me?

Since the tours take place outdoors at night, you’ll want to come prepared for whatever Calgary’s weather throws at you. Heritage Park recommends weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes, as the tour covers outdoor areas with uneven ground and limited lighting.

How much are tickets?

Tickets are $24.95 plus GST for guests ages 16 and older. Heritage Park Annual Members and Heritage Club VIPs can receive 15 per cent off their tickets by getting a discount code through Guest Services.

Your ticket will also include a 10 per cent discount coupon for the Selkirk Restaurant, which is valid on the evening of the Ghost Tour.

You must purchase tickets in advance on the Heritage Park website.

Where do the ghost tours start?

The tours begin at the gazebo in the centre of Heritage Plaza. When you arrive, you’ll head over to the area and have your Showpass ticket ready for check-in. Once everyone is checked in, you’ll meet your tour guide and head into the park.

Where is Heritage Park?

Heritage Park is located in southwest Calgary, about 15 minutes from downtown and along the Glenmore Reservoir.

If you’re planning on driving to the park, paid parking is available on site. Heritage Park uses the ParkPlus system, and evening parking from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. costs $8.

You can also get to Heritage Park by Calgary Transit: Route 402 from Heritage Station, Route 20, MAX Teal, and MAX Yellow all stop near the park’s parking lot, about a five-minute walk from the entrance.

When: Select evenings from Wednesday, Sept. 16 to Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026
Time: Tours at 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8 p.m.
Where: Heritage Park – 1900 Heritage Dr. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Adult (16+): $24.95 (Annual members and VIPs get 15 per cent off)
