A popular cottage-country restaurant just blasted toxic weekenders in an explosive Instagram post, Canada Reviews

9 September 20262 Mins Read

A popular Port Stanley restaurant just called out toxic weekender behaviour in a viral Instagram post, and the shock factor is hitting way too close to home for anyone in Ontario hospitality.

Two Forks, a beloved year-round cottage country staple located at 295 Bridge Street, is famous among visiting Toronto foodies for scratch-made plates, craft beers and handcrafted cocktails. But following a chaotic Labour Day weekend, the restaurant’s owner posted a raw, heartbreaking message detailing a string of completely outrageous encounters with entitled guests.

“After this weekend I am struggling to even want to do this anymore,” the post read. “We show up everyday for you, but the treatment we get in return is out of this world. Enough is enough.”

The post exposed jaw-dropping customer behaviour that goes far beyond standard bad reviews. According to the owner, visitors self-seated at dirty tables, cornered an 18-year-old staff member over table arrangements, and threw tantrums over realistic wait times for fresh, scratch-made food in a packed 100-seat house.

Some diners straight-up committed theft by consuming entire meals before flat-out refusing to pay, while others threw fits over outdoor bees and threatened the restaurant with zero tips and negative online reviews.

“Stop threatening us with your no tips and shitty reviews, I promise you we are not here for either,” the owner wrote. “We are here for the love of hospitality… but man if you can’t stop treating us like shit, I really don’t know if I want to be.”

With Muskoka already packed and Lake Erie beach towns booming as popular escapes, the sudden influx of city dwellers heading southwest has created a massive cultural clash.

Two Forks is issuing a harsh reality check to Toronto road-trippers: small-town culinary spots run on tight, hard-working crews of 35, not fast-food assembly lines. If Torontonians want these incredible regional food destinations to actually survive, it’s time to leave the toxic city entitlement at home.
