Assassin’s Creed spinoff takes to the stage (and to Canada) with Heredis

5 May 20262 Mins Read

Ubisoft announced Tuesday a new entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and its setting isn’t what we were expecting: the stage. After Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is released in July, the next Assassin’s Creed project isn’t a game but the stage production Heredis.

Heredis an “original live show” that “blends acrobatics, parkour, theatre, and history into a powerful new stage experience,” Ubisoft wrote in an Instagram post announcing the show. Heredis will follow Naël as he searches for his missing father. “With his allies, Naël faces a series of trials across different historical eras in a quest to find his father,” the show’s website states.

There’s no mention of how Assassins or Templars might fit in, though the social media post and Heredis‘ website both state viewers won’t need to be familiar with the games or franchise as a whole to enjoy the show. So, don’t worry about reading up on Isu lore ahead of time.

Heredis is created by The 7 Fingers, a Canadian theater group. Its performers will “combine acrobatics, urban parkour, choreographed combat, and physical feats” to put on Heredis.

The show will premiere in Montreal in December and run there for a couple of weeks. It’ll then move to Paris in January 2027, where it will remain until at least the first week of February. Tickets are already on sale if you want to secure your spot at one of the performances.

Heredis won’t be the first time Assassin’s Creed goes live-action, and it won’t be the last. Michael Fassbender starred in an AC film a decade ago, and a TV series is in development for Netflix. As for the games: Ubisoft has several in development, though none of them beyond Black Flag Resynced have release dates yet.
