Atlus held a panel for Persona 4 Revival, its remake of the beloved PS2 RPG, at Anime Expo 2026 this weekend. During the panel, we learned more about the game, including who will be voicing Rise Kujikawa and which studio created its anime cutscenes.
General producer Kazuhisa Wada, business producer Yoshuke Uda, and character designer Shigenori Soejima were all at the panel. First, they highlighted some Anime Expo merch, gave a general overview of the remake, and played a short video to show visual improvements between Persona 4 Golden and Persona 4 Revival. Then, a character trailer for Rise Kujikawa was shown off, confirming that her new English voice actress will be Abby Trott.
Many trailers for Persona 4 Revival have shown anime cutscenes that are completely new to the remake. Atlus confirmed that it is working with MAPPA on these. MAPPA is a pretty prolific animation studio, most recently known for hit anime like Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man. It also animated the opening of Persona 5 Royal, so Atlus collaborating with MAPPA again makes sense.
We even got a glimpse at one of MAPPA’s cutscenes that shows the protagonist, Yosuke, and Teddy encountering freaky enemies and activating their personas for the first time.
The panel’s final big announcement was that the previously released Persona 4: The Animation and Persona 4: The Golden Animation anime series are being re-released on Aniplex USA’s YouTube channel between today, July 4, and Aug. 19. That means both series are now completely free to watch, and should make for a great primer ahead of the remake.
While there may not have been any earth-shattering news at this panel, it showed Persona fans that they have quite a bit to look forward to from this remake. Persona 4 Revival will be released on Feb. 18, 2027 for Windows PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. It will be on Xbox Game Pass on the day of release
