Felix Cartal is coming to this historic B.C. mountain town for a weekend concert

14 March 20263 Mins Read

Revelstoke is the kind of place you escape to, no matter what season it is, because it’s brimming with outdoor adventures. Situated between the Monashee and Selkirk Mountains, the former railway town has a vibrant downtown and arts scene, as well as well-established trails that delight hikers and Nordic skiers alike.

Now that Revelstoke Mountain Resort is in its final stretch of the 2025/2026 winter season, there are a ton of family-friendly events and celebrations to look forward to. This includes March break camps for skiers and snowboarders aged five to 15 at Revelstoke’s Mountain Sports School, as well as exciting mid-week travel incentives.

For one, Ikon Pass holders can access half-off Friends & Family lift tickets, allowing them to bring guests at a reduced rate with no blackout dates. Additionally, children aged 12 and under can ski for free (with purchase of an adult ticket) up to April 12, 2026, through the Kids Ski Free program.

With 5,620 feet of lift-accessible terrain, Revelstoke Mountain Resort has the most vertical in all of North America. And with over 500,000 groomed bowls and zones total, you have plenty more to explore regardless of which snow sport you’re after.

“March brings longer daylight hours and a full schedule of programs and events on the mountain,” says Ryan Melnyk, Vice President, Commercial Strategy & Marketing with Northland Properties. “Families and guests can ski in the morning, reset in the village, and still have daylight left for après ski and live music.”

An iconic closing weekend concert

One specific event to bookmark is the closing weekend concert at the resort on April 12, 2026, which will be headlined by iconic Canadian DJ and producer Felix Cartal.

Known for his spontaneous pop-up concerts (including beachside pop-ups in Vancouver), Cartal is sure to bring the hype for the closing day festivities. The après-ski event will take place at the base of Mount Mackenzie, bringing live music to the resort village as lifts stop spinning for the season.

Nordic skiing

Those looking to do a bit of Nordic skiing can visit Mount Macpherson and the Illecillewaet Greenbelt, which is considered an “undiscovered destination.”

As of just last year, the Greenbelt Society began grooming Mount Revelstoke Meadows in the Sky Parkway, adding another breathtaking spot to the list of options.

Historic downtown

According to Tourism Revelstoke, the scenic town was founded in the 1880s when the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) was built through the area. Since then, it has evolved into an “epic” adventure hotspot — though a stroll down the historic downtown is a necessary addition to any trip.

Here, visitors will find a slew of charming specialty shops and locally-owned restaurants, cafes, bars, and distilleries.

There’s also a walkable open-air art gallery that has transformed its picturesque streets and alleyways with vibrant artwork that illuminates the night.

So no matter the reason for your visit, it’s worth adding Revelstoke to your road trip map before winter ends.

How to get there: Drive six and a half hours from Vancouver to Revelstoke via Trans-Canada Highway/BC-1 E, BC-5 N and Trans-Canada Highway/BC-1 E.
