In Brief: HVS reports on key hotel sales and investment activity across Europe for the week ending 11 September 2026

Starboard Hotels and LaSalle acquire nine hotels in the UK from Ares and EQ

British owner-operator Starboard Hotels, together with American real estate investment manager LaSalle, has acquired a portfolio of seven Accor-branded hotels (913 rooms) in the UK from global investment manager Ares Management and pan-European hotel investor and operator EQ Group. The hotels are situated in London, Birmingham, Luton, Sheffield and Southampton, under the Novotel and Ibis brands. Starboard will manage the hotels under the existing Accor franchise agreements. This acquisition brings the number of Accor hotels managed by Starboard to 15.

Banor Capital acquires three hotels in the UK

London-based investment management company Banor Capital, through a newly established investment vehicle, has acquired a portfolio of three hotels (415 rooms) in the UK. The portfolio includes the four-star, 135-room DoubleTree by Hilton London Elstree, the four-star, 147-room DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke on Trent and the four-star, 133-room Holiday Inn Bolton Centre. All three hotels include restaurants, spas and swimming pools. Banor financed the acquisition and restructuring of the hotels through a £27 million loan facility from London-based Metro Bank. In July 2026, Banor also acquired the Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone in Northamptonshire, as reported in this newsletter.

GS Bacares Iberia acquires Nômade Temple Madrid from Hotei

GS Bacares Iberia, the hotel investment and operating arm of Luxembourg-based investment fund Nômade Partners, has acquired the five-star, 93-room Nômade Temple Madrid in Spain from Spanish real estate investment trust Hotei Properties Group SOCIMI for €105 million (€1.1 million per room). The property is situated on Gran Via in the centre of Madrid, some 500 metres from Puerto del Sol. The hotel includes a restaurant, three bars and a rooftop terrace. Formerly known as Iberostar Las Letras Gran Vía, Hotei acquired the property in 2024 for €70 million, subsequently renovating it and reopening it in March 2026 under the Nômade brand. As part of the transaction, GS Bacares Iberia assumed the existing lease with NMD Gran Vía, the entity operating the hotel, ensuring continuity of operations under the Nômade brand following the change in ownership.

Iremis acquires Novotel Freiburg am Konzerthaus in Germany from Deka

Luxembourg-based real estate investment manager Iremis has acquired the four-star, 219-room Novotel Freiburg am Konzerthaus in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, from German REIT Deka Immobilien, which owned the property through its open-ended real estate fund WestInvest InterSelect, for an amount reported to be around €28 million (€128,000 per room). Freiburg is a city of some 240,000 in southern Germany, located approximately 70 km north of Basel. The hotel is situated by Freiburg’s central train station, and includes a restaurant, bar and 11 meeting rooms. Currently operated under the Novotel brand, the hotel will be vacated by its current tenant at the end of 2026, followed by an extensive renovation ahead of its reopening under the Scandic brand in autumn 2027.

CapMan and AP Pension acquire Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers

CapMan Real Estate, the real estate arm of Finnish private equity firm CapMan, has acquired the four-star, 366-room Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers in Denmark through its CapMan Nordic Real Estate IV fund, in a newly established 50/50 joint venture with Danish pension company AP Pension. The property is situated in Copenhagen’s Ørestad district, halfway between the city centre and Copenhagen Airport. The 25-storey hotel includes two restaurants, a bar and 13 meeting rooms. Danish operator Bellagroup operates the hotel, which is located close to Copenhagen’s major convention facility, the Bella Centre.

Extendam and Ker Hospitality acquire Ibis Paris Père-Lachaise from Ouchelh family

French private equity firm Extendam, together with operating partner Ker Hospitality, has acquired the three-star, 31-room Ibis Paris Père-Lachaise in France from the hotelier family Ouchelh.
