We’ve rounded up some of the best indoor activities and things to do this winter in Edmonton. Whether it’s something active, something chill, or something intriguing for the human mind, you’ve got something to look forward to.

All of these activities are indoors, for you to be able to stay warm this season, as well as within Edmonton city limits. Without further ado, let’s jump into the best indoor activities this season.

Rollers Roller Rink is Edmonton’s only roller skating rink in the city. Here, you can rent skates and take advantage of its incredibly large roller rink, grab snacks, and make a day out of skating your heart out year-round.

Want to get your rage out? Axe Monkeys offers not only axe throwing, but also its own rage room. It’s the ultimate destination to get a little anger out, whether it’s throwing dangerous objects at a target or just around a perfectly contained room.

Cost: $30+

With two locations in the city, one on the south end and one on the west end, Activate is a premier gaming facility with many interactive mental and physical games. Whether you’re climbing walls, solving puzzles, or dodging lasers, there’s something for everyone.

The Muttart Conservatory is well-known in Edmonton for being a tropical paradise indoors during the winter months. Year-round, it holds majestic botanical gardens for everyone to see.

Currently, the Muttart Conservatory is showing off its “Prehistoric Paradise” feature. It’s showing off a step back in time with a lush, tropical landscape of banana plants, vibrant bromeliads and dinosaurs, which provide an incredible backdrop for photos.

This is Edmonton’s science centre, with feature displays, interactive learning opportunities, and so much more. Here, you can even catch a movie in IMAX or visit its all-new exhibit, Jurassic World by Brickman.

There’s no question that Edmonton has some of the best escape rooms around. We’ve rounded up the best of them in a list for you folks to check out, and maybe, just maybe, you might be able to escape.

The Art Gallery of Alberta is one of the best art galleries in the province, with a good bang for your buck. It’s especially great considering the art gallery is almost completely refreshed every four to six months, allowing for an all-new experience each time you visit.

Every last Thursday of the month, the Art Gallery of Alberta also has free admission for everyone who comes between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m.
