Sunny skies to rain: Vancouver’s weather has a little bit of everything this week

2 June 20262 Mins Read

Metro Vancouver temperatures are heating up the forecast for the first week of June, but you’ll want to enjoy it while you can.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is calling for temperatures to remain in the low 20s from Monday, June 1, to Wednesday, June 3.

However, temperatures will climb up to 28°C inland on Monday and 29°C inland on Tuesday. And it will feel even hotter when factoring in the humidex.

“It’s not really temperature, per se, but it’s more of how it might feel,” ECCC meteorologist Bobby Sekhon told Daily Hive in a previous interview.

“Of course, that takes into account the temperature and the amount of moisture in the air.”

The ECCC added online that a humidex reading can help people make informed decisions about outdoor activities and heat-related health risks before venturing outside.

The latest forecast indicates that Metro Vancouver temperatures could feel as high as 29°C on Monday and 31°C on Tuesday, with the humidex, with a UV index of 7, or high, on both days.

“Right now, there’s a high-pressure system keeping things pretty warm and consistently clear, with a temperature increase in the next few days,” explained Chloe Katsademas, ECCC meteorologist.

However, it’s not quite time to put away the umbrellas just yet as rain is set to return by the start of the weekend.

“Later in the week, there’s a trough approaching from the Pacific. At the end of the week, into the weekend, there will be precipitation,” added Katsademas.

Daytime highs are forecast to drop to a low of only 15°C on Friday and Saturday, with showers and periods of rain.

Overnight lows will reach just 10°C on both days as well.

If you’re looking for a fun activity to do around Vancouver, no matter the temperature, we’ve got you covered this week.
