A suspect was just named in a kidnapping less than 7 miles from Nancy Guthrie‘s house in Tucson, Ariz., as Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom remains missing.
On Monday, June 8, Fox News Digital reporter Michael Ruiztook to X to report that a 40-year-old woman, Coral Michelle Smith, is wanted by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Smith is wanted “in connection with a kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon case less than 7 miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home,” Ruiz reported. “There’s NO indication that the cases are connected.”
The alleged incident happened on May 29 at the intersection of River Road and La Cholla Boulevard in Tucson, roughly 6.8 miles from Nancy’s home, per Fox News Digital.
Although the PCSD didn’t release details about Smith’s alleged crimes, she reportedly has a rap sheet dating back more than a decade—including a different kidnapping allegation, robbery, disorderly conduct, and drug charges. She is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighs 135 pounds, and has blond hair with blue eyes.

“Notably—no wrist tattoo,” Ruiz added, referencing photos and videos of a masked suspect that the FBI released from a doorbell camera on Nancy’s front porch.
A $1,000 reward has been offered for information leading to Smith’s arrest. Meanwhile, more than $1.2 million in reward money is up for grabs in Nancy’s case.
Nancy, 84, was last seen at her Catalina Foothills residence on the evening of Jan. 31. As of writing, DNA evidence, including a hair sample, is still being processed as investigators continue to pore through tips. No suspect has been named in Nancy’s case.
On June 7, Savannah sent a new message more than four months after her mother’s disappearance. “Oh my, my soul it cries out, soul, it cries out,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “Bring her home 💛.
