Even Toronto Blue Jay’s slugger George Springer is having real estate problems in this city, Canada Reviews

2 June 20262 Mins Read

Toronto’s housing market is still wildly expensive, but apparently, even Blue Jays hitters aren’t immune to a below-asking sale.

George Springer’s Lawrence Park home has reportedly sold for $6 million after being listed last month for $6.445 million, putting the final sale price $445,000 below asking. That’s also below the roughly $6.43 million Springer and his wife, Charlise, reportedly paid for the property in January 2022.

According to Mansion Global, Springer’s stone Georgian Colonial is nestled in Lawrence Park and spans roughly 5,300 square feet. The five-bedroom property was built in 2005 and renovated in 2019, and features marble and stone accents throughout, along with a finished lower level that was set up as a playroom and movie room, and an upstairs primary suite with vaulted ceilings, a fireplace and a custom dressing room!

The sale comes as the veteran MLB player enters the final season of a six-year, US $150 million contract. While the below-asking sale likely won’t cause much panic for Springer, the timing has fans wondering whether there’s a deeper meaning behind the move, like whether his Toronto chapter could be nearing its final page. It’s not exactly a farewell announcement, but in 2024, Springer had reportedly purchased a seven-bedroom, 7.5-bath waterfront home in a gated community in Stuart, Florida, for US $9.5 million.

Springer’s 2026 season has been a bit bumpy at the plate so far, with a .212 batting average, a .648 OPS and five home runs, marking a big step back from his 2025 regular season, when he hit .309 with 32 home runs and a .959 OPS.

Still, Springer has a history of coming through in the playoffs, which is part of why Jays fans may be reluctant to write him off (home sale or not).
