If you are looking for a reason to get out of the house this week, this is your sign. Calgary is gearing up for a busy week, and we are totally here for it. So whether you’re into theatre, festivals, or just looking for some last-minute plans, plenty is happening around the city.

We’ve rounded up 10 of our top picks so you don’t have to spend time scrolling.

Without further ado, let’s get into it!

Scott Dumas is headed to The Comedy Cave for a night of stand-up, and if you want to start your week laughing, this is the show to catch. He was the winner of Alberta’s Search for Funniest New Comic in his first year in comedy and has since performed across Canada.

Celebrate Global Running Day at Confederation Park with an evening focused on movement, community, and connection. The night begins with a relaxed five-kilometre social run that is open to all paces, along with a walking group for those wanting something a bit more low-key.

Where: Confederation Park – 905 30th Ave. NW, Calgary, Alta.

Join the Ultimate Summer Challenge, Calgary Public Library’s largest program for readers and learners of all ages. The idea is simple: read a little every day this summer. With free access to books, resources, and events through the library, it’s an easy way for Calgarians to stay inspired all season long – plus, you will be entered to win some pretty great grand prizes.

When: Registration opens on June 15, 2026; Challenge takes place from July 1 to Aug. 31, 2026

Come From Away tells the true story of when flights were grounded around the world, and thousands of passengers were welcomed into the small town of Gander, Newfoundland. This new production of the award-winning musical highlights resilience, kindness and unexpected connections during a moment of crisis.

The Okotoks Film Festival is back, and this year it is going all out for its 10th anniversary. Taking place at Okotoks Cinemas, the festival features 10 days of world-class films, red-carpet events, and more.

When: Thursday, June 4, 2026, to Saturday, June 13, 2026
Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Okotoks Cinemas – 100 Stockton Ave., Okotoks, Alta.

Explore Spruce Meadows – June and July is a full-day summer experience packed with live outdoor music on weekends, Friday Movie Nights under the stars, and some of the cutest competition you will see all summer.

Across the grounds, you’ll also find live entertainment, Kids’ Zone activities, mini animal petting zoos, food vendors, and local shops, all leading up to world-class international show jumping as the main event of the weekend.

Step into a world of woodland fairies and Shakespearean magic with Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Led by Music Director Laureate Hans Graf, throughout the night you’ll hear pieces including the famous Wedding March -one of the most recognizable pieces of classical music ever written.

Saddle Up in Style is bringing Stampede fashion to Cowboys Dance Hall for a night in support of Dress For Success Calgary. The event will feature local boutiques from around the city and will raise funds for women facing financial barriers.

The Calgary zoo is turning into a seriously fun night out with this adults-only craft beer event. Think local brews, great food, and a relaxed stroll through the zoo after hours.
